rsInternalError Reporting Server error !

Salam,

I get this error, if any one can help me

An internal error occurred on the report server. See the error log for more details. (rsInternalError) Get For more information about this error navigate to the report server on the local server machine, or enable remote errors

But I could solve the problem by restarting the IIS , so each time this message appear I restart the IIS and the ReportServer's will work but after some time the problem again will appear . I think the problem with cache in IIS because the session still opened and not closed so how I can solve this

Hi,

Try to set up the "Recycle worker process (in minutes)" to shorter frequency in the report server application pool.

Also, you will be able to find detaild information about the service health in the log files at "Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.n\Reporting Services\LogFiles" folder.

Regards,

Janos

Thanks,

I set up the "Recycle worker process (in minutes)" to 60 minutes and I will see .

and this is the log file for today

again the problem still exist even after I set up the Recycle worker process to 60 m .

what I can do to solve this problem.

|||Well, you must check the log files for more details to this error. Please check all log files in the directory I specified before. (just the today's file Wink )|||

which log files there is a lot of todays files .

|||Try to check the ReportServerService_main.log, ReportServerWebApp.log.

rsInternalError

I get this error message while deploying report:
An internal error occurred on the report server.
See the error log for more details. (rsInternalError)
Invalid text, ntext, or image pointer value
0xFDFF7F5F000000000303000001000200.
The statement has been terminated.
This happens to all reports I am trying to deploy either through VS.NET or
froom rds file
How do I resolve it?
Thanks,
-StanHI,
Did you ever resolve this issue? I'm getting the same message. Just
started during my last attempt to deploy.
thanks

RS2000 & internal RS Database in SQL 2005

Dear all,
We are migrating step by step our different environements, we would like to
migrate SQL 2005 first, then migrate all the other applications to .NET v2.0,
Reporting Services 2005, ...etc.
We already bought the new SQL 2005 servers and we have several questions
about this :
- Could Reporting Services 2000 that is installed in the Web Servers have
internal Reporting Services Databases that are installed in SQL 2005?
- Is it supported by Microsoft? if so could yoiu please indicate a link to
Microsoft Web site confirming this?
- In order to point to the new databases do we have to uninstall RS 2000
and then install it again on the same machine and pointing to the new Servers
OR can I use rsconfig.exe to change the server and create the Reporting
Services Databases?
Best regards,
Stefan
http://www.itsconsulting.frAny response to my question above?
How can I get this information?
Stefan|||I know that RS 2005 can have its databases on SQL 2000 (and is fully
supported). I do not think that it is supported the other way. My guess is
that it will do a version check of the database and complain. However, would
RS 2000 continue working if you upgraded the database? Probably, but I don't
think it is officially supported.
When you get around to migrating RS 2000 a bit of advice. When you upgrade
the server the reports are still in RS 2000 format. They will continue to
work but I had the case with a few weird little problems here and there.
When I opened each report into the RS 2005 designer and converted them to RS
2005 format and redeployed, all my little problems disappeared.

RS integrated with MOSS - Internal Error - AdjustTokenPrivileges

I'm running MOSS 2007 Enterprise, SQL 2005 SP2, RS integrated with MOSS and have a number of reports deployed to a Reports Library in MOSS. 3 out of 10 times I run a report I get a error message stating that 'An internal error occured on the report server.' Just hitting Apply on the parameter panel will fix the problem and render the report as expected.

Previous entries to the forum about this error hints at an error that supposedly was fixed in SP2; since I'm running SP2 something else must be the problem.

Any insight to what might cause the problem ?

Regards,

Trond

Reapplying SP2, rebooting and then reapplying SP2 once more because I got frustrated beyond what's good for my health, seems to have fixed this issue.

Why the initial and the second SP2 didn't help is beyond my understanding.

RS deployment on load balanced servers

Could anybody offer any advice on the internal mechanics of report server?
Our server setup is as follows.
SQL Server 2000 clusters in active/passive. Load balanced web servers x 3.
One of which is a publisher with files replicated to the other two.
We'd like to set up reporting services, but need a bit of advice as to the
role of the report server.
Our plan is to set up RS on all three servers for load balancing, all
pointing to the same SQL cluster.
As I understand it, when an rdl file is deployed or uploaded to report
server, report server takes the file, breaks it down, encrypts it and
publishes it to the RS database. Is this correct? Doe RS have any other
function at this point? Are references to the reports stored on the IIS
server?
In our setup when we publish to http://abcdefg/ReportServer, our content
switches will decide which server the report is sent to. If it *doesn't* go
to our publishing server, do we need to be concerned with replication?
Also, what issues do we face RE encryption key on the three servers? We need
to ensure that they are all the same. Is this something that can be specified
during setup?
I Hope this makes sense!
JoeThis is 100% supported configuration. Search BOL for web farm (if you do not
have RS installed yet and don't have BOL then you can search the Microsoft
site for this). I don't have a web farm configuration but based on my
experience with RS this is what happens: In a web farm all the server front
ends use the same SQL Server database. So, when you deploy you only need to
deploy once and that gets the information used by the app into the database.
RS has three parts. The SQL Server database object store, and two asp.net
1.1 applications. One of the applications is core to the product, it does
all the rendering of the reports and uses the object store. The other
(Report Manager) you can consider a portal. This is optional, some people
use either URL integration or webservices and have their own front end
instead of using Report Manager.
Note that for a web farm you need to have enterprise licenses. Not only for
the SQL server cluster you have but you need an SQL Server interprise
license for each IIS server in your web farm. Every server used by RS has to
have a SQL Server license.

our SQL cluster by putting IIS and RS on it, something anybody with an ounce
of sense wouldn't do, or to pay MS for 3 additional enterprise liscences! I
don't know about you, but this seems to me like this is a liscence to print
money!

licenses then it is a pretty big hit. If all you are paying for is the
server license then not too bad (especially if you compare against Crystal
or BO). In my case my corporation has SQL Server client licenses covered for
all PCs so I have no CALs to do, just the server license. It is a different
story if you are doing processor licenses.

RS 2005: Subscription fails with Internal error

Hi all,

I have a (for me) strange problem with subscribing reports.

I've setup several reports that I want to create monthly and store to a file share.
In BIDS Preview and deployed to the report server everything works fine.

Each of my reports has an own schedule (they'll be created step by step), export format is Excel, as credentials I use a local user, all parameters are set porperly.
When the time to render the reports has gone, I just see the following behind each subscription:

Failure writing file LIS04 : An internal error occurred on the report

server. See the error log for more details.

The Log file contains the following: (I highlighted what I think to be the key error)

Does anyone have an idea what goes wrong here?

Are you running 64 bit RS? If yes, it looks like a known problem that will be fixed in SP2.
