RS2000: Subscriptions "Logon Failed"

Hi,
We get an "Logon Failed" message when running subscriptions;
ReportServer service runs using an domain account. Domain account has
run-as-a-service, logon-locally and "impersonate a client after
authentication" and the apprioriate database rights.
What is the "required privilege" (see below) the reportserver is requiring?

But; RS is able to start, login to the databases. RS WebApplication works as
expected but only the Subscriptions give me a logon failed when they're
scheduled to run. It seems to have something to do with RS not being able to
render the reports using the account used for subscriptions. Any idears on
how to fix this?

i think for the subscription to work you need to have Credentials stored
securely in the report server. Subscription will not work for reports which
dont have this stored credentials. When you run the report it will work, but
subscription will not work. The reason is DataSources for that report does
not have stored credentials i.e it has either have windows credential or no
credential. in order that reports have subscrpiton enabled you have to check
the "Credentials stored securely in the report server" and enter the user
name and pwd. you can either enter a sql login or windows login based on the
authentication type. and finally click Apply button to store it. Then do the
subscrpion it will work.

Thanks for the reply, but all of my data sources already use stored
credentials (sql-server's sa user, ..., yeah I know ...). So I still think
it has something to do with the win2000 environment and rs supplied
credentials. Have another look at the reported error, it talks about
impersonation, tokens and the windows user/password/domain combo wich are
not used by SQL authenticating data sources.

Are you using any custom dataset extension or custom assemblie?
why cant you give a domain\windowuser and pwd and click the check box below
"Use as Windows credentials when connecting to the data source" in the
datasource and try running the report. see if its work.

RS2000: Failure sending mail: Cannot access a closed file...

SQL Server 2000, RS2000...
I have 2 timed subscriptions to the same report. One of the
subscriptions delivers the report via Report Server Email, the other
via File share.
If I choose PDF orWeb Archive as the deliverable then then both
reports work. If I choose Excel, I get the following error message
posted on the Report Server next to Status when I look at both
subscriptions to the report.
Any idea what is happening?

RS Subscriptions not running

Hi, I'm having some problems with email subscriptions.
I've set up the subscription and schedule time but the schedule just doesn't
seem to run. It's reporting no errors, there's nothing in the log and the
subscription just looks like a new subscription that's never run.
Can anyone out there help, it would be appreaciated.
Many thanksCan you check to see if the corresponding SQL Agent job is firing and if
there are any issues? Also make sure that the ReportServer service is
running.

the execution date. Therefore the schedule was always created one hour before
the intended time. After changing the timezone in the code it worked!

Before the subscriptions are running several month without problem.
SQL Agent is started, smtp server available. I can start the jobs direct in
SQL Agent jobs. The job is marked as successfull. No log entries where ever
possible. RS just don't start to create the report and send it. On the test
server it still works, everything is exact the same on the testsystem.
Before this occured the database log file was full. And we thought that
couses the problem. After fix this, the beheavoiour is still the same.

RS Subscription Failures

RS Subscriptions are generating the following errors for some (not all)
subscriptions:
Failure sending mail: The Report Server has encountered a configuration

The only difference I can see between our working subscriptions and the non
working subscriptions are the owners of the subscriptions.

is not able to send email as you expected. If I have misunderstood your
concern, please feel free to point it out.
According to the error message, I think there might be something wrong with
your configuration file. Please compare rsreportserver.config file in your
working subscriptions machine and non working subscriptions machine. You
may also post the file here and let's check the parameter

Based on my knowledge, when your Reporting Services is running under
Windows Server 2003 and your Reporting Services and SQL Server are both
running under domain user account, you should apply the hotfix in the
following KB
"The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted"
error message in Windows Server 2003

rs Enterprise Edition

I wanted to upgrade to rs Enterprise edition so i could take advantage of
data drive subscriptions and found that the price tag is $24,000. I was
surprised at the jump from $0 to $24K for such a small difference in
features, so I am assuming that I am missing something. Can anyone tell me
what would account for the sharp difference in price?Hmmm, yes. It was never 0 in the first place. You have to pay a license for
SQL Server on any server that RS is installed on. So if you have a web farm
you have to have a license for each server, regardless of whether a SQL
Server database is installed on the machine (think of it like buying an
office license, I buy an office license doesn't mean I can put Word on one
machine, Excel on another, Powerpoint on a 3rd). Anyway, if you have SQL
Server standard already purchased and you install RS on the same server
(important point) then it is free. Same thing is true if you already had
Enterprise and installed RS on the same server.
Based on the amount you mention I assume you are doing a per processor
license, not a per user license.

>|||We were in the same situation and thought that SQL Enterprise Edition was
required to for RS Enterprise Edition, but this is not true (just a bit
confusing). We installed RS Enterprise on our SQL Standard Edition server
just fine at no additional cost.

>|||From a licensing perspective it very much is true. Also, whether it requires
for install or not is besides the point, an Enterprise SQL Server license is
required for RS Enterprise. They are one and the same as far as licensing is
concerned. RS is not a separate product it is part of SQL Server.

RS E-Mails Not Sending

I have some subscriptions setup that automatically e-mail reports to the
end-user. However, the reports only work maybe 3 days out of the week the
other times the e-mails to not get sent. Has anyone ran into this problem
before? I am using SMTP.
Thank You.Do the log files contain any errors? Does the subscription status show
anything?
