RS2000: Failure sending mail: Cannot access a closed file...

SQL Server 2000, RS2000...
I have 2 timed subscriptions to the same report. One of the
subscriptions delivers the report via Report Server Email, the other
via File share.
If I choose PDF orWeb Archive as the deliverable then then both
reports work. If I choose Excel, I get the following error message
posted on the Report Server next to Status when I look at both
subscriptions to the report.
Any idea what is happening?
Thanks,

Guess including the error might help!

RS Subscription Failures

RS Subscriptions are generating the following errors for some (not all)

BrentHi Brent,
Welcome to use MSDN Managed Newsgroup!
From your descriptions, I understood your Reporting Services' subscription
is not able to send email as you expected. If I have misunderstood your
concern, please feel free to point it out.
According to the error message, I think there might be something wrong with
your configuration file. Please compare rsreportserver.config file in your
working subscriptions machine and non working subscriptions machine. You
may also post the file here and let's check the parameter

Thanks for your prompt update and sorry for my lateness!
I looked into your Reporting Services log and found the following entry
--
Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.ServerConfigurationErrorEx
ception:
The Report Server has encountered a configuration error; more details in
the
log files, AuthzInitializeContextFromSid: Win32 error: 5; possible reason -
service account doesn't have rights to check domain user SIDs.;
--
Based on my knowledge, when your Reporting Services is running under
Windows Server 2003 and your Reporting Services and SQL Server are both
running under domain user account, you should apply the hotfix in the
following KB
"The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted"
error message in Windows Server 2003
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/834859
You may also apply Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1, within which, I
believe this hotfix had been included
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=22cfc239-337c-4d81-
8354-72593b1c1f43&DisplayLang=en
NOTE that it will be a FREE/REFUND case if you only asking for hotfix.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation. If you have any questions or
concerns, don't hesitate to let me know. We are always here to be of

RS and Subscription Mail Delivery

Hi Guy,
During installation of Reporting Services we didn't completed SMTP info.
Up to now thos info are really important for subsription delivery via mail.
I found an article in Technet describing which parameter configure in
RSWebApplication.config file to activate RS SMTP Service.
The config file is an XML format and i think i wrote it wrong because, even
if i restarted everything i don't have availability of mail delivery in
subscription configuration.
Someone could help me?
Can you show me an example of your config file if you correctly setted SMTP
info during setup?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Ciao
StefanoHere is a working configuration (done after the install but that doesn't
matter). Note that I have the IP address of the server hardcoded. You should
not have to do this, you should be able to use the name. Note that most of
configurations are left blank. The IP address is the IP address of a SMTP
server that we have.

I've done the settings and everything looks good except when you try to
confirm subscription or change the schedule i get an error telling that the
value for the field StartDateTime is not valid for this field. It's
impposible to convert string value in the requested type.
Can you help me again?
Thanks in advance!
Stefano|||Are you doing this from Report Manager? Or are you controlling the
subscription via web services. My suggestion is to first do it from Report
Manager to make sure everything is setup correctly. If this is via web
services then I can't help you, no experience with them.

to be a report parameter problem. Is the report parameter of date data type
(instead of string)
