************** JIT Debugging ************** To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this application or computer (machine.config) must have the jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.

The application must also be compiled with debugging enabled.

For example:

<configuration>

<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" /> </configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Not quite sure if this will help, but I do not what this method Is. Basically its a method on the Data Extension to retrieve the properties of the command object, within the Report Designer.

Do you know which Data extension the report is using (SQL Server, Oracle or maybe a Custom data extension?)

|||

We are using SQL Server.

It appears that we may have solved this issue by reinstalling RS SP1. I'm unsure why we were receiving this error though but it is gone now.

Thanks for your help.

rsDataExtensionNotFound for using XML

Hi all,

I am using SQL Server 2005 reporting service and I am attempting to create a report via xml returned from a web service. Everything works fine while I am in the report designer of visual studio 2005.

However, when I attempt to deploy the report to the report server, it will complain that the xml data extension is not registered with the report server, giving me a rsDataExtensionNotFound. A check on the report server config file does show the xml data extension with all the microsoft namespaces. I had thought that Reporting Services in SQL Server 2005 does natively support xml data source.

Has anyone encountered a similar problem? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Does it matter that the SQL Server 2005 that I have is the workgroup edition ?

Thanks

HI,krayek:

As far as i know ,XML data sources are not supported in SQL Express:

http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms365166.aspx

(See "Unsupported Features" section.

If i misunderstand you about your question, please feel free to correct me and i will try to help you with more information.

I hope the above information will be helpful. If you have any issues or concerns, please let me know. It's my pleasure to be of assistance

|||

Thanks for the reply.

However, my SQL version is SQL Server 2005 workgroup edition.

So, I am wondering if this SQL Server 2005 workgroup edition also does not support XML data extension ?

Regards,

David K

HI, David K

No, SQL Server 2005 workgroup edition did not support non relational data source.

Hi Rex,

Thanks for that info. Darn, looks like I need to get the standard edition then.. =)

windows service is not activating automatically because it thinks another
report server is using the database. If this is not the case, you can clear
out the old entries by running rskeymgmt -d, then restart the windows and
web service.

RS2005 web reference produces "C2234: Array of References illegal"

Hello,
I'm new to RS2005 and have begun going through the Tutorials in SQLServer 2005 Books Online. I'm currently attempting to add "reportingservices2005.asmx" as a web reference to my VS2003 C#.NET project and I keep getting this compile time error:

error C2234: 'Warnings' : arrays of references are illegal

How do I get rid of this compile time error? This error appears in the generated file representing the RS2005.wsdl. Aside from the generated web reference files the other files of the VS2003 C#.NET project are the default project files by the wizard.

Thanks in advance for the help
ZeroVerticalUpgrading to VS2005 C#.NET got rid of the error. I must have overlooked this requirement. I just upgraded to VS2005 C#.NET and everything works fine now.|||It shouldn't really be a requirement. Not sure why it is happening. You should file a bug on the feedback center.

RS Restore Version Conflict

We are attempting to dry run a SQL 2000 to SQL 2005 upgrade. We build a
server in a test lab with reporting services 2000, SP1 successfully. Backed
up our production (reporting services 2000 SP1) ReportServer databases and
restored to the test lab server. Now we get the following error in report
manager:
The version of the report server database is either in a format that is not
valid, or it cannot be read. The found version is 'C.0.6.54'. The expected
version is 'C.0.6.51'. To continue, update the version of the report server
database and verify access rights. (rsInvalidReportServerDatabase) Get Online
Help
How do I troubleshoot this? I'm not finding anything in online help. Thank
you,Hi Brent,
Welcome to use MSDN Managed Newsgroup!
The error message indicates the database you used to attach is backuped
from a Reporting Services SP2 but you are attaching it to a Report Services
SP1.
You should select the correct version database for Reporting Services.

Could you please extrapolate on "You should select the correct version
database for Reporting Services."

Thanks for your question but it is not exactly the same as original one.
If you want to move the Report Server database, it would be recommended to
use 32bit SQL Server's database to restore the 32bit SQL Server's database.
Everything should be match.

=====================================================This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.|||We are migrating from a 32 bit SQL server to a 64 bit. I cannot find any
papers on how to do this migration, therefore I detached the DB from 32bit
and reattached to 64 bit server. After reattaching is when I get the error.
Reattaching to 32 is pointless.

databases from a 32bit server.
